Accessibility Statement
Making this site work for everyone
We want this website to be usable by as many people as possible.
Last updated: 25 July 2026
Our commitment
Build and Bloom Therapy Ltd is committed to making this website accessible in line with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standard. Accessibility matters to us — the visitors we hope to support are already carrying enough without a website adding to it.
How accessible this website is
We have designed and built the site with the following in mind:
- Content is written in plain language and structured with clear headings so it can be understood at a glance and navigated with assistive technology.
- All interactive elements — links, buttons, form fields — can be reached and operated using a keyboard alone. A "Skip to main content" link is provided at the top of every page.
- Focus indicators are clearly visible on all interactive elements when navigating with a keyboard.
- Text is set at comfortable sizes and reflows naturally on smaller screens without requiring horizontal scrolling.
- Images have descriptive alternative text, or are marked as decorative when they carry no information.
- Forms have clearly associated labels, mark required fields both visually and to assistive technology, and announce status messages using live regions.
- Animations and transitions respect the operating system's "reduce motion" preference.
- Colour choices for body text and the main site elements meet or exceed WCAG AA contrast requirements.
Known limitations
The following areas may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.2 AA. We are aware of them and either intend to address them before launch, or believe they present a limited practical impact.
- Primary button contrast. The Warm Blush primary call-to-action button uses Forest Sage text on a warm blush background at a contrast ratio of 3.80:1. This meets WCAG AA for large text (3:1) and for non-text UI components. The button is set at 18px bold, which sits just below the strict WCAG threshold for "large text" (14pt bold, approximately 18.67px); in practice the bold weight and generous size make the button highly legible. We continue to monitor whether this presents a barrier for any visitor. If it does for you, please let us know.
- Full independent WCAG audit not yet completed. The site is scheduled for a full accessibility test pass — using automated tools (axe-core, Lighthouse) and manual keyboard and screen-reader checks — before it launches. Any AA-level issues found will be fixed before we go live. This statement will be updated after that audit.
- Third-party components. The site uses Cloudflare Turnstile to protect the contact form from automated submissions. Turnstile is provided and controlled by Cloudflare; while it is designed to be accessible, its specific behaviour is not fully under our control.
- Raster accreditation logos. The BABCP Accredited and PSA Accredited Register Quality Mark logos are supplied by those organisations as raster (JPG) images and may look less sharp than the rest of the site at very high zoom levels.
What to do if you cannot access something
If you have trouble using any part of this site, or you need something in a different format (for example, information from a page emailed to you as plain text), please email enquiries@buildandbloomtherapy.co.uk . Emily will respond personally and do her best to help within 72 hours.
Reporting accessibility problems
If you find any accessibility problem on this website, we want to know. Please email enquiries@buildandbloomtherapy.co.uk with a short description of the problem, the page it happened on, and — if you are comfortable sharing — the assistive technology or browser you were using. This helps us reproduce the problem quickly.
Enforcement and further advice
If you are not satisfied with how we respond to an accessibility complaint, the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) can provide free and independent advice on your rights under the Equality Act 2010. You can contact EASS on 0808 800 0082 or through their website: equalityadvisoryservice.com Opens in a new window .
Technical information about this website's accessibility
Build and Bloom Therapy Ltd is committed to making this website accessible in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2, at Level AA.
The site is built as static HTML, CSS and JavaScript, served over HTTPS. It does not require plugins or specialist software to view. It is designed to work with recent versions of major browsers on desktop and mobile, and with common screen readers (VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS, TalkBack).
How we tested this website
The site is tested continuously during development against WCAG 2.2 AA using a combination of:
- automated audits (axe-core, Lighthouse)
- manual keyboard-only navigation checks
- screen-reader spot checks using VoiceOver and NVDA
- colour-contrast verification against the WCAG formulae
A full pre-launch accessibility audit is scheduled as part of Phase 7 (quality assurance). This statement will be updated after that audit is complete.
Preparation of this statement
This statement was prepared on 25 July 2026. It will be reviewed before launch, and thereafter at least once every twelve months.
